The Create a work item toolbox item will do exactly what it says on the tin, trigger a work item to be created for the work type specified.
Common Uses
This item may be used to create any type of work item. This can also be linked to a parent work item.
Pre-requisites
Work type - you must define the specific work type for which you want the work item created.
Variables - any of the fields on the configuration that show this icon will allow you to insert a variable into the text. Before you set these fields you will need to have set up your variable on the data tab and retrieved and inserted the information you want to use into the variable.
Step - to use this item form the toolbox you will need to have a step on your canvas into which to drag it
Configuring Prepare Document
1. Click on the toolbox tab of your workflow canvas
2. Select the Create a work item option and drag onto the step in which you wish to place it
3. Click on the Create a work item you have dragged onto the canvas to add in the configuration
4. Enter in the configuration for the toolbox item
Action Name | Give the action a name e.g. 'Create sub-matter' |
Work type | The work type for which you want the work item to be created. |
Reference | The reference that will be given to this work item. You can also include variables. |
Title | The title that will be given to this work item. You can also include variables. |
Description | The description that will be given to this work item. You can also include variables. |
Parent Work Item | The ID of the work item to which you want to link this work item. |
Phase Outlets | If applicable to the work type, this will show the relevant outlets that can be utilised. |
Participant Assignments | If applicable to the work type, this allows you to setup the participant assignments using an existing variable. |
Output | This option allows you to store your new work item ID in a variable. |
