Why are my templates not appearing in the dropdown for Delivery Channels?

Known issue: Email templates not available for selection for document delivery emails

Issue

Since version 7.5.3, we have observed in some client configurations that expected email templates are unavailable for selection when an email is used as a document delivery channel.

An end-user will potentially see an empty dropdown, as shown below:

This issue can surface when one or more templates in the system are configured with a data context of Task or Prepare Document.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Find all email templates that need to be available for document delivery emails by browsing to: Launchpad > Open Documents Admin > Document Templates > Email Templates. Then, perform the following steps for each template. 
  2. Override the default display context and ensure that both the data context and the Prepare Document type are set, for example: 
  3. Ensure that Display rules and Legacy Display rules are not enabled. 

After performing these steps, the correct set of templates will load in the dropdown.
