Understanding List views

ShareDo uses a powerful technology called Elasticsearch which helps you quickly search through all your cases, tasks, contacts, and other items. The results of these searches can be shown as a list, like the items in your worklist. This search feature is built into our list views and is available throughout the application.

A typical list

Views

In version 7.8.0, ShareDo introduces a powerful feature called Views, designed to improve the user experience by offering different ways to look at any given list. With this feature, users can create multiple Views for a single list, each providing a customised way to filter and display information. These Views can be created by a ShareDo configurator in Modeller, resulting in System Views, or by end users, known as User Views.

Each View applies a specific set of filters to the list, such as filtering by My Open Tasks or My Tasks Due Today. This allows users to easily switch between different Views using the List View interface, tweak existing Views, or create new ones based on the current filters.

The introduction of Views helps avoid cluttering a page with multiple list views or setting up several similar pages in the left navigation menu. This results in a more streamlined and efficient user interface, with fewer badge counts on the navigation panel.

Advanced Filtering Blade

The advanced filtering blade in ShareDo gives users a sophisticated tool for applying filters to specific Views. ShareDo configurators and end users can set up these filters using a combination of field, operator, and value options without needing to show these filters as columns in the List View.

This blade acts as a centralised hub for filters. With only a few exceptions, most filters that were previously part of the List View configuration blade have moved here. This change increases the flexibility and precision with which users can filter their data.

Quick Filters

Quick Filters allow users to easily apply commonly used filters directly from the List View interface. When the user clicks on the filter toggle, these filters are displayed just above the List View.

Quick Filters allow users to quickly apply filters like Due by or Assigned To without having to dive into more complex settings, offering a fast and user-friendly way to narrow down search results.

Saving Filters as a View

After setting up their Quick or Advanced filters, users have the option to save the current filter set as a new View. This makes it easy to reuse and switch between different customised Views, further boosting the efficiency and flexibility of data management within ShareDo.
