To integrate FormEvo with ShareDo and make FormEvo's digital legal forms available in the Doc Admin > Document Templates menu, a system administrator must enable and configure the Legal Forms global feature and the linked service for FormsEvo. Use this article for information on how to do that. Once this is done, a configurator (document administrator) must configure the Legal Forms document template, which another article covers.
Prerequisites
The following items must be in place before configuring the ShareDo integration with FormEvo.
- Your company must have an account with FormEvo.
- FormEvo provides an admin user account, which you use to manage your account and create other users if necessary. This admin user in the FormEvo system has an ID and Secret that can be found on the My Account / FormEvo API page. You need this Client ID and Client Secret to configure the linked service.
Global Feature and Linked Service Configuration Steps
Follow these steps to configure the FormEvo integration.
Step 1: Enable and configure the Legal Forms global feature.
- From the Launchpad, select Open Admin > Features and select Manage global features.
- Search for Legal Forms and enable it. If the card is red, as in this image, the feature is not configured yet. Click the cog icon to configure the feature.
Configure the FormEvo linked service from the Legal Forms global feature configuration blade or Admin > Integrations > Manage Linked Services. In this article, we will configure the linked service through the feature configuration.
- The configuration blade opens. Select FormEvo as the provider. You will see that the FormEvo service does not exist yet. Click Create it under Auth to create and configure the service. The Edit service blade opens.
Proceed with step 2: configuring the linked service. Once completed, finish the global feature configuration described in step 3 below.
Step 2: Configure the Linked Service
- In the Edit service blade, enter details in the General Configuration section as needed.
- Do the following in the FormEvo Configuration section.
- Select the environment you want FormEvo to integrate with.
- Enter the FormEvo Client ID and Client Secret you received from FormEvo.
- Select the appropriate settings for Token management and Keep Alive.
- Allow fallback to system tokens?: Where a user does not have this service linked for themselves, using their own account, specify if the system-linked account can be used instead.
- Enable keep alive?: Allow service to keep tokens alive. This provider supports the ability to keep the link alive via a maintenance plan that refreshes the access tokens.
- Add teams whose members can access the service in the Team Availability section. If you check the Required box, the team members are forced to link their accounts to FormEvo accounts.
- Enter a custom configuration message if needed.
- Customise the mandatory link message for users: As this provider supports user account linking, here you can override the default link prompt that appears when a user does not yet have a linked account.
- Select wether to enable the proxy via the ShareDo API.
- This provider supports proxy via the ShareDo API (
/api/proxy/{systemName}/_/{proxyUrl}
) to allow the upstream service to be called without having to load client configuration or tokens over the wire. This allows your custom widgets, event engine, etc., to call the upstream service as though it was calling a ShareDo API and have the proxy forward the request on with relevant security tokens etc,, server-side, without leaking this information to the client.
- This provider supports proxy via the ShareDo API (
- Click Save and Close.
Although the linked service is now configured and available in the Manage Linked Services section of Admin > Integrations, this message will show, warning you to configure a system-level link.

Step 3: Finish configuring the FormEvo linked service.
At this point, if you click Configure it, the Edit service blade reopens and allows you to reconfigure the service as in step 2.
If you click Link it, the FormEvo login will appear, and once logged in, it will let you connect your ShareDo account to your FormsEvo account.

Once the link is established, the Auth section changes to green and allows you to reconfigure the service, relink, or inspect and test the current config.

Clicking Inspect it opens the inspect blade, where you can click Test connection:

Phase features
The phase features are configured by default, but you can make changes if necessary by opening the Phase Features blade. In this image, the Completed phase is set to Is Completed.
