The purpose of this accelerator framework is to provide the foundational configuration components for managing claimant personal injury cases in England & Wales (E&W) in the Operate platform. It includes sample base configuration of one matter work type (claimant personal injury), and the supporting configuration, i.e. phase plan, participants, key dates, portal definition, etc. It also includes sample workflows for the main stages of the matter, as well as sample budgets.
It is anticipated that the matter work type included in this accelerator will be extended based on client needs, either through addition of derived specialist matter work types, or through utilising defined sub work types to tailor the relevant process and user interfaces.
This framework accelerator is designed to be used in conjunction with the related accelerators listed below. These related accelerators are not hard dependencies, however some content of this framework expects those accelerators (or alternatives) to be available. For example the investigations portal page on the matter work type includes views of the work types included in the FoA & Record Requests accelerator.
The accelerator does not include an instruction work type or service portfolio - as there heavily vary by client processes and integrations.
User Journeys
The matter portal provides a working space to manage the case, including portal pages with distinct purposes such as claim details or investigation pages.

The workflow design approach in this accelerator framework is an assistive one, with sample workflows for each of the key phases/activities.

Matter Setup
On creation of a new claimant PI matter, a matter setup workflow will be triggered to initialise the case, including tasks for capturing information and participants, whether a letter of notification is needed, and what phase to progress the case to.
Letter of Claim
This workflow enables the user to generate and issue the letter of claim and the response received back from the other side, including an assistive action plan to capture information/prepare activities based on the response, and then choices for next steps.
Pre-Issue
The pre-issue workflow provides an assistive action plan to check and prepare to issue proceedings, and includes an approval step (which can be removed/amended if required).
Litigation
This workflow prompts the user to create proceedings (expected to usually be Part 7 proceedings) and update the phase to Litigation.
Settlement
The settlement workflow provides an assistive action plan to capture settlement details, update relevant parties and carry out activities such as payment requests/expectations if required. It also checks if there is an open set of proceedings and if so supports the user in closing or discontinuing.
Pre Action Disclosure Request
This workflow is designed to be optional as it may not always be required; it creates a request to the other side and provides the ability to make a court application if required.
Implementation
It is anticipated that this standalone framework accelerator will be imported alongside the related accelerators. As such these individual configuration packs will need to be configured to work together.
Included in the design document (available on request) is an advisory checklist of key configuration elements that should be reviewed and updated following the import of this framework accelerator and any additional related accelerators.
