On a work item's participant list, each participant has a menu with Actions and Activities. If a participant role isn't linked to the participant menu, the menu displays "No actions available" instead. The fix is a configuration change in Modeller. You make the change for each affected participant role.

Before you start
- You need access to Modeller.
- Note the participant role that displays the message, and the work type of the work item. You need both to find where the role is set up.
Why the message displays
Each participant role on a work type has a link to the participant menu. Modeller creates this link when a configurator adds the role to a work type. The link then applies to every work type that is derived from that work type.
If the link is missing, every participant with that role displays "No actions available" on that work type and on its derived work types. Other roles on the same work item are not affected.
A link can be missing when work type configuration was imported from another environment, or loaded outside Modeller. Clio recommends that you check all participant roles on the work type, not only the role that was reported.
Find the work type where the role is set up
A participant role is set up on one work type, and derived work types inherit it. You repair the role on the work type where it is set up.
- Navigate to Modeller > Work types.
- Open the work type of the work item that displays the message.
- Select Participant Roles.
- Find the participant role in the Roles list.
- Check the Source column for the role.
If Source displays This Type, the role is set up on this work type. Continue to Restore the participant menu below.
If Source displays Inherited from and a work type name, open that work type. Repeat steps 3 to 5.
Restore the participant menu
Saving the role's configuration on the work type re-creates the link to the participant menu. You don't need to change any settings.
- On the role's row in the Roles list, select the Actions menu.
- Select Configure.
- In the Edit Sharedo Type Role blade, select Save and close.
- At the bottom of the Modeller left navigation, select the recycle icon. Its tooltip reads Force reload of all configuration.
Clio Operate holds configuration in a cache. Until the configuration reloads, the participant menu keeps displaying "No actions available". If you don't reload the configuration, the change can take up to 24 hours to display.
Check the result
- Open a work item that has a participant with the repaired role.
- Open the participant's menu in the participant list.
The menu displays Actions and Activities. A role that you repair on a parent work type is repaired on its derived work types too.
If the menu still displays "No actions available", contact Clio Operate support.
In versions before Clio Operate 7.12
In versions before 7.12, the Edit blade for a participant role in Modeller > Participant roles includes a Sharedo Ownership section. This section lists the work types where the role is set up. From Clio Operate 7.12, this section is no longer in the blade. Use Modeller > Work types > Participant Roles to see where a role is set up.
