Introduction

Clio Operate is a powerful legal matter management platform that enables law firms to design, automate, and manage complex workflows from matter inception through to completion. This Learning Journey has been designed to take you from initial orientation to confident, independent use of the platform — whether you are a new user finding your feet or an administrator responsible for building and maintaining your firm's configuration.

The journey is structured across six progressive modules, each building on the last. You will begin with a foundational introduction to the platform and its core interface, before moving into the modelling tools that sit at the heart of Clio Operate. From there, the journey covers workflow design, document and email templates, rules and automation, and finally the administration of users, teams, and permissions.

It is important to note that this Learning Journey is intentionally generic and has not been tailored to any specific role or job function. It provides a broad foundation across all areas of Clio Operate, and individuals or teams are encouraged to focus on the modules most relevant to their day-to-day responsibilities. Role-specific guidance may be developed separately as training provision matures.

Each topic within a module is supported by a combination of resources — Help Articles for reference and self-paced reading, Recordings to watch processes in action, and LearnUpon modules for structured, assessed learning. You are encouraged to work through the resources for each topic before progressing to the next, as later modules assume familiarity with earlier concepts.
