What is a Service Portfolio?
You can use service portfolios to provide the end user with a visual guide to creating the right type of work. The service portfolio provides you with a menu of services. Each click on an item can either open up a new work-type or take you to the next level of the tree. Each button on the portfolio can have an icon and a name. You can also phrase the options as questions to help guide other users.

Where Do I see a Service Portfolio?
You can access service portfolios from the main portfolio menu or from an inbound communication such as an email. The access point depends on how the service portfolio is configured. Service portfolios are subject to permissions, so you must have permissions to access them to view them.

What Does a Service Portfolio Button Do?
There a four different types of actions that the services portfolio buttons perform:
Button Type | Description |
---|---|
Menu Node | Provides a hierarchical structure to the service portfolio to help guide you to the right end choice. |
Instruction Entry | Opens up an instruction work-type that captures initial information about a piece of work and can then be converted into another work-type (for example. Quote > Sale, Legal Instruction > Legal Matter). |
Task Entry | Click to create a specific task. |
Work-Type Entry | Click to open the data entry form for a specific work-type. |
How Do I Configure a Service Portfolio Entry?
Create service portfolio entries in Modeller > Service Portfolios. Select the service portfolio to add your entry.

Service Portfolio Details
You can edit service portfolios from the service portfolio canvas located at Modeller > Service Portfolios. Select the service portfolio you want to edit.

Basic Settings
Basic settings provide the high level information about the portfolio.

Data | Description |
---|---|
System Name | The unique system name for the portfolio. |
Name | The name that is displayed to your users. |
Description | A useful description about the purpose of the portfolio. |
Icon | The icon that is displayed in the launchpad menu. |
Enabled | Set to true indicates the portfolio is currently enabled. |
Top Nav | Indicates whether the portfolio can be accessed from the launchpad menu. |
Inbound Channels | Indicates whether the portfolio can be accessed from the actions menu on email, fax or SMS tasks. |
Service Portfolio Button Details
Portfolio button details determine the display and actions of each button in your portfolio.
Data | Description |
---|---|
Icon | The icon you shows to your users for this entry. Choose a Font Awesome 4.7 icon. Make sure the icon makes sense for the purpose of the button. |
Colour |
The colour your service portfolio button. Take care using colour as it may not be visually compatible with your company's colour scheme. |
Enabled | Indicates the portfolio item is active. |
Name | The name that is shown on the button. This can be phrased as a question. |
Description | The hover-over description for the button that is shown to your users. Make sure this contains useful additional details. |
Sharedo Type | Instruction, task and work-type portfolio items only. Shows the work-type that is created. |
Sub Type | Instruction, task and work-type portfolio items only. Shows the work-type category that is created. |
MatterTtype | Instruction portfolio items only. Shows the case type that is created once the instruction is progressed. |
Matter Sub Type | Instruction portfolio items only. Shows the case type category that is created once the instruction is progressed. |
Client | (Optional) Instruction portfolio items only. Select the default client organisation. |
Jurisdiction | Instruction portfolio items only. Indicates the default jurisdiction or region or the work-type. |
