Introduction to Personas and Portals

When your users access ShareDo, they will be interacting with a number of different portal types.

  • Workbench Portals - through workbenches, users get a summary view of all of their work.
  • Work Item Portals - through work item portals, users get an in-depth view of a specific work item, e.g. a matter.

Using the Portal designer, you can personalise portals for different user groups.

You can also theme the portals according to your brand(s) or co-brand them for specific clients. Finally, we provide a number of out-of-the-box portal and persona definitions to “fast-track” this configuration.

Underpinning personas and portals are the following configurable features:

Personas

Your user types are assigned a persona. In turn, the persona will govern the portal definition that is displayed to users.

Themes

Themes are associated with personas and govern the overall brand images, icons and colours that are used on your portal definitions.

Portal Definitions

Within ShareDo, you can define as many different portal definitions as you like. Each portal comprises of a number of pages and widgets.

Portal Widgets ShareDo contains an extensive library of portal widgets as a palette for you to design your portals together with the ability for you to extend this library.

Portal Master Pages

Within a Portal definition, you define Portal Master pages; these define the overarching common display elements across all of the portal pages.

Custom Portal Widgets

ShareDo provides a library of out-of-the-box widgets that you can add to your portals to create rich user experiences. In addition, you can create new custom widgets through the ShareDo IDE.

Just like Google Analytics, when your users interact with ShareDoand audit of their interactions is maintained. Supported by reports, you can then access which areas of your portals are most used.
